Our Crisis Bed Services offers intensive, short-term support to help individuals manage a mental health crisis in a supported living setting (rather than in a hospital).  Our service offers a safe and supportive environment that is responsive to people’s needs and supports individuals as part of their recovery journey.

The service is an alternative to going into hospital, for example if individuals don’t feel safe at home overnight, or things at home are contributing to them being in crisis.  It would also be appropriate for individuals that are medically for discharge but may have a barrier to discharge that may be resolved in a short period.

THE SERVICE OFFERS:

  • 24/7 Staffing (Includes 3 hours support per individual per day)
  • Practical and emotional mental health support
  • Overnight accommodation
  • A small number of beds (Up to 5 per House)
  • Homely environment (including 3 meals per day)
  • Safe place for interventions supported by Crisis Teams and/or Community Teams.
  • Supportive non-intrusive Observations
  • Regular Interaction & Distraction
  • Support with medication
  • Collection and drop off at admission & discharge.

Individuals are supported to prepare their own meals and encouraged to take part in the day-to-day running and decision making of the house. They can stay in the crisis house for up to a week however dependent on need this can be reviewed and extended in liaison with commissioners.
